One of the bands to emerge from the Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania music scene was a short-lived quartet known as KING'S CHAMBER that evolved from a thrash metal cover band called AGGRESSOR, formed by bassist Jeff Baker, guitarist Doug Cleary, and drummer Brent Siep in 1987. After a couple of years, Cleary would depart the group. Baker would then recruit former DRACERA guitarist Josh Levine to fill the vacancy. The new addition of Levine helped to set the stage for a significant transformation in the band's direction. It would begin this transition by first changing the band's moniker to KING'S CHAMBER in 1989.
A shift in musical direction followed, with the band moving from a more thrash-influenced to a more straight-ahead, commercial, melodic metal style. In January of 1990, the band entered Signal Sound Studios to record its debut EP. The 4-song EP. The sessions would come together quickly, and that same month, the band would have cassettes made and delivered into the hands of fans, promoters, and whoever else might listen. The KING'S CHAMBER EP quickly became the talk of the Lehigh Valley scene.
The EP also received an enthusiastic review in Pennsylvania Musician Magazine by Butch Maloney. The buzz about the band was growing throughout the Valley and beginning to spread outside.
Around this time, Ronnie James Dio's wife and manager, Wendy Dio, would show interest in taking on the band under her management. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances within the band, combined with the shift in the musical climate, this would never come to be. Another personnel change would take place, bringing Cleary back into the fold. This act would reunite the original members of the band. With Cleary back in the band, KING'S CHAMBER would return to Signal Sound Studios and track new guitar solos by Cleary for some of the previously recorded songs.
As the music scene began to shift toward favoring more alternative sounds, KING's CHAMBER's window of opportunity started to close, just as it did for many heavy metal-oriented bands in the country.
Siep would also finally make his decision to exit the band, and Cleary would take his leave as well.
Now, with only two remaining members, Baker and Hutt tried to continue; however, reassembling a full band and keeping it together proved to be a difficult task, and eventually the group would entirely disband.
In 2016, KING'S CHAMBER would reform for a reunion show with bassist Jeff Baker, vocalist Kurt Hutt, drummer Brent Seip, and guitarist John Risko, who had joined the band right before its break-up in 1992. Joining the band was second guitarist Ed Drozdowsky.
