Formed in 1982 in Burien, Washington, SATO emerged when a group of high school friends united to chase their musical dreams. Inspired by heavy metal and hard rock giants like UFO, Scorpions, Judas Priest, and Iron Maiden, they saw these bands as the pinnacle of achievement. SATO’s passion and drive fueled their rise in a competitive scene known for its electrifying performances and relentless energy.

The band’s name, spontaneously derived from the Ozzy Osbourne song during preparations for their debut gig at Seattle’s Showbox, became a hallmark of their unpolished, authentic spirit.
