Abramelin was formed in Melbourne in 1988 as Acheron, a short lived but essential name in the early Australian Death Metal underground. In just a few years they recorded a couple of demos that still stand their ground!

This compilation of all Acheron studio recordings brings you pure old school 90’s Death Metal, driven by a dark atmosphere and the kind of loose technicality that comes from a band pushing itself forward!

In 1991 the French Corpsegrinder Records released the “Deprived of Afterlife” EP, giving the band some exposure outside Australia.

Their sound clearly tapped into what was happening overseas at the time, with echoes of the early European and American Death Metal wave, while keeping a character of

its own.

Acheron shared stages with bands like Carcass, Morbid Angel and Pungent Stench, placing them right in the middle of the scene they belonged to.
