SHARK - Inventory 1988 / 1993 CD

SHARK was born in 1987 initiated by guitarist Eric "Ricket" Castro (ex Charter). He wanted to found the "fastest band in Nantes". A first line-up was made up of his close friends and family.

The band recorded its first demo in June 1988 but the singer was replaced shortly after to breathe a more "power" vocal style.

The second demo "Dream of Rock" was released at the end of 1989 and carried all the ambition of the band with songs in English. Shark then hired a promoter and took part in a great festival in 1990 alongside with Massacra, Killers and Jumper Lace. Despite some line-up changes, the band played a few regional concerts and worked on composing new stuff.

At the end of 1991, with a renewed line-up, the Demo "Welcome in the Arena" was released. The band is then really motivated but the period is not very favorable to conventional heavy metal bands. Shark is experiencing the same crisis as most bands, not being offered any real opportunity, will do its last concert in may 1992.

Unexpectedly a few weeks later, shark is offered to record 3 tracks for a cd compilation. Shark is then in full decline and ricket must call back the first singer to record. The Avang'Hard compilation CD is released in 1993 but SHARK will not do anything after that.

Ricket died in January 2024, bilou, the latest drummer joined him in may 2024... This inventory CD pays tribute to them, as well as to the other protagonists of the SHARK project.

As a testimony of a limitless passion, of an unfulfilled dream.
