WINTERHAWK - There And Back Again 2LP
In 1982, Winterhawk self-released their LP "Revival". The sprawling hard rock with heavy metal tendencies and many two-part guitar solos was initially only available in the Chicago area, but eventually collectors took notice of the record. In 1998, this brought the label Monster Records, which for a time specialized in American hard rock and heavy metal between the late 1970s and early 1980s, onto the scene. Winterhawk quickly became a household name in the scene.
But the sensation was only complete when the opportunity arose to rework an early live recording from 1978 and release it on CD. With its impressive sound quality, "There and Back Again" takes it up a notch. The joy of playing is beyond words, and the two-part guitar solos alone should win a Grammy. It constantly reminds one of the early days of Rush.
